This past year (2016) was a year of choosing a different lifestyle. A change that for me was way overdue. It has not been easy, but it has proven to certainly be worth the effort. I am so grateful for a husband that has helped me to get outside of my comfort zone and encouraged me to believe in myself. There have been so many sources of motivation that God has placed in my path throughout this journey, and I am eternally grateful for each one. I am still working to achieve my personal weight loss goal, but honestly this journey has become much more than just a number on the scale. This is an intentional decision to change the way I think about health & fitness.
I really have formed a relationship with my Provectus coach, Mindy. I feel like she is truly cheering me on each time that I speak with her. Her one on one guidance and tips were helpful. Suggestions of things that might help me as and individual. She celebrates along with me when I reach my goals, and more importantly she encourages me to keep with it even when I do not reach every goal.
I honestly thought giving up certain foods that were part of my normal diet would be impossible, but eating healthy has really been a lot easier than I imagined. It is actually really fun to find new recipes to cook for my family. Such things as “fried” riced cauliflower, broccoli tots, cauliflower mash, roasted veggies, and so much more. I learned that eating healthy does not have to taste bad. On the flip side, continuing to make time for my workout has been more difficult than I initially thought. As a mother it is hard to make yourself a priority when your kids have so much going on day to day. I am fortunate to have a wonderful husband who is extremely supportive along with an excellent support system.
Before I started this journey my doctor placed me on blood pressure medicine and I felt awful (no energy, headaches, backaches). After losing weight I had to be taken off my blood pressure medicine, because they found that my blood pressure was dipping to low. My visits to the doctor have drastically decreased & I no longer have any medications that I have to purchase. I definitely have more energy to get up and play with my two young kids now that I have lost weight & started exercising. As a family we are becoming more active in the evenings and on the weekends by riding bikes, walking & playing sports. I really want my kids to see my husband and I living a healthier lifestyle, so they will adopt the same good habits.
I would encourage anyone thinking of enrolling in the Provectus program to give it a try. Let me be the first to encourage you to go for it and stick with it. I promise you will not regret the choice to become a healthier you!
